Crab and Lobster Thirsk Yorkshire 1990 -2002

The Barnards first opportunity to demonstrate their obvious flair and vision. The business was started by buying the pub and some two years later the house next door which was turned into a hotel. The site covers some four acres, with beautiful gardens and reflects the Barnards love of themed rooms and spas. The new establishment soon made its mark in the area. The template for success continues today where the Crab and Lobster  continues to win awards and over fifty weddings a year are hosted.

Crab at Chieveley Berkshire 2003-2008

An old 16th century pub was transformed and opened its doors in the summer of 2003.  Set on the top of a hill with amazing views across Berkshire to Hampshire and Wiltshire, the new restaurant and hotel set a high level of service and sophistication in west Berkshire.  Beautiful themed rooms with spas and an excellent restaurant once again won the Barnards numerous awards.  Only the challenge of taking on The Fish House meant that the Barnards sold this establishment. The Crab continues to offer exceptional value in West Berkshire under new owners.
